Description

Visions is a full LP released under the artist name Mountain Laurel on Blorpus Editions. Visions is an electroacoustic drone album focusing on themes of ritual and mind-bending acoustic ecology.

Low-fidelity field recordings captured on cassette tape are blended with recorded samples of my own handmade instruments. These instruments are both forged and foraged — including iron bells, a sistrum rattle, sculptural sheet metal forms, a ceramic wind maker and instruments made from fell tree branches. My compositions blend the sonic qualities of both urban and natural spaces, pulling at the threads of the relationship between myth and place.
